AFRAA-Amadeus Workshop on Cybersecurity, 16 September 2025, Virtual Format

Memo to be sent to all AFRAA member airline CEOs

Cyber threats increasingly threaten the travel industry. To help airlines discover how they can stay resilient against rising cyber threats and advance defense strategies, AFRAA, in partnership with Amadeus will hold a workshop for African airlines on 16 September 2025. The workshop will take place at 14.00hrs EAT (11.00hrs UTC) in virtual Format.

Held under the theme: “Cyber Threats on the Rise. Trends, Emerging Risks, and Resilience in Aviation and Travel”, the workshop will explore how airlines can defend against advanced cyber threats, including the dual offensive and defensive roles of AI in cybersecurity, highlighting emerging risks and protective strategies to ensure continued cyber resilience. The aviation sector remains a prime target for cyber threats suffering significant financial losses from malware, web/API attacks, data breaches, and human vulnerabilities. Emphasizing cyber resilience, which integrates business continuity and information security, the workshop will equip participants with knowledge on how to anticipate, prevent, withstand, and recover from cybersecurity incidents to maintain operations. The workshop will also present real-life airline use-cases and provide an open forum for discussion with Amadeus experts.
