TAAG TRANSPORTS OVER 1,000 PASSENGERS TO NAIROBI IN 28 DAYS

PRESS RELEASE

Luanda, 29 September 2025 – TAAG Angola Airlines has surpassed the milestone of 1,066 passengers on its new route to Nairobi in just 28 days of operations, since its launch on 1 September. This performance confirms the strong demand for intra-African connectivity and validates the company’s strategy of deploying capacity where demand exists, promoting further growth and prosperity for the region.

The expansion of intra-African routes has strengthened passenger flows to cities such as Johannesburg, Lagos, Maputo, and Cape Town, while also increasing connectivity with long-haul destinations, including São Paulo. This achievement reinforces TAAG’s position as a key airline for continental mobility, growing at a pace above the regional industry average.

At a strategic level, the company is undergoing an accelerated transformation cycle. Among the most recent milestones is the partnership agreement signed with multinational Menzies Aviation, which enhances TAAG’s operational efficiency and responsiveness.

Fleet modernization is another central pillar. In early October, TAAG will receive a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, delivered two years ahead of schedule following negotiations with Boeing. This demonstrates the American manufacturer’s priority in supporting the national airline’s fleet renewal. The aircraft will initially arrive in an economy and premium economy configuration, aligned with the manufacturer’s immediate availability, but with the possibility of future reconfiguration to better meet the preferences of both Angolan and international passengers.

According to Clóvis Rosa, Chairman of TAAG’s Board of Directors, “the sustained growth we are witnessing confirms TAAG’s importance in African connectivity. Luanda is today a key gateway between Africa and the world, and fleet expansion is a natural response to rising demand.”

TAAG reaffirms its commitment to delivering service quality, and greater connectivity, consolidating its role as a driver of development and a strategic partner for Angola and Africa. The airline is experiencing the most significant expansion phase in its recent history, positioning itself as a leader in African mobility and an essential link between the continent and the world.
